Phil Malloy

Phil became interested in Buddhism in 2003 after reading Thich Nhat Han’s “Peace is Every Step” and Pema Chodron’s “Start Where You Are“. In 2004 he was a founding member of Great Pond Sangha in North Andover, Massachusetts. He joined NDF soon after its founding and since then has participated in many retreats and the Margha, Vajrayana, and Dzogchen programs.

Phil’s life has been profoundly influenced by Lama Willa’s teachings and by reading Pema Chodron, Charlotte Joko Beck, the Dao De Jing, Zen Mind Beginners Mind, Longchenpa, and the Lojong slogans.

Phil loved his career as an eccentric telecommunications software engineer. After retiring, aka being downsized, he became treasurer when NDF bought Wonderwell in 2011.

When Phil isn’t totally wrapped up in spreadsheets he enjoys cooking, traveling, listening to all kinds of music, reading, the outdoors, and hanging out with his wife Susan Malloy, and the families of their two children – especially two adorable grandchildren.
