Laura has been practicing and studying yoga and meditation since 2004. In 2008, she earned her 200-hour yoga teacher training in the Sivananda hatha lineage and more recently completed 300 additional hours of VajraYoga training with Michele Loew and Robert Thurman. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre with a minor in French from Goucher College. She brings her studies of art, language, and theatre to her exploration of movement and traditional medicine.
Laura has studied Five Element acupuncture, Classical Chinese Taoist medical lineage, Indian hatha yoga, and Tibetan yogas. She was awarded a Master of Acupuncture in 2013, and conferred to a Master of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in 2017.
Laura’s first Buddhist meditation teacher was Tara Brach. Her discovery of the teachings of Lama Willa Baker and Lama Liz Monson has revealed an endless field of play for which she is eternally grateful. Currently, Laura is studying the intersection of modern Western trauma theory with Chinese medicine, and venturing into Tibetan yogas in the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage.
She maintains a private acupuncture practice in Baltimore, Maryland, and supports the work of Natural Dharma Fellowship as the Online Program Coordinator.
