John Rott is a pediatrician and wellness speaker living in San Diego, California. He has practiced Buddhism since happening across “The Way of Zen” by Alan Watts in 1988. From the first chapter it was like reconnecting with a long-lost friend.
Zen practice gave way to Vipassana, which evolved into the big-hearted Tibetan path. In 2005 he first met Lama Willa at a Dzogchen Center retreat in the desert at Joshua Tree, and has been involved with NDF from the beginning.
For nine years, the Margha program has been a life’s path, and the last five years have seen him as a mitra for one of the remote groups. Outside of the NDF lineage, he also has deep connections with the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and Will Johnson.
He is passionate about hiking, playing the violin, and daily meditation. In addition to the Margha Program, you can also find him on Insight Timer (search people: John Vista CA).
