In Buddhist teachings, one of the qualities of the Bodhisattvas is defined as “power” or “strength.” This quality refers to the force with which the energies of love and compassion emerge into the world. It suggests that we each contain within us a deep well of healing intention that can emerge under the right conditions. Prayer is one way of activating and directing the power of this loving energy.
Spiritual traditions all over the world make use of prayer to direct and focus the motivations of the heart/mind. Particularly in difficult times, using prayer to unleash the potency of the healing and transformative energy that lies within us can give rise to a sense of clarity, resilience, and purpose as we face into the challenging aspects of our lives. Join Lama Liz for this retreat, as we explore different modes of prayer, both inside of and outside of the Buddhist tradition, that can enable us to open and entrust ourselves to the innate power for good that lies within us.
