Lopön Charlotte Z. Rotterdam is a Dharma teacher and contemplative educator. She is Magyu Lopön, lead teacher of the Mother Lineage, at Tara Mandala Retreat Center, founded by Lama Tsultrim Allione. An Instructor in Naropa University’s World Wisdom department, Graduate School of Psychology and Core College, she also directs Naropa’s Center for the Advancement of Contemplative Education. Charlotte co-developed and teaches Naropa’s Mindful Compassion Training, a secular program to cultivate compassion in personal, professional and societal contexts. She received a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and is the mother of two boys. Her essays on the intersection of spiritual practice and daily life have appeared in Lion’s Roar, Buddhadharma, Mandala and Fearless Nest, an anthology. She is currently co-writing a book, Skymind: The Path of Open Awareness, with her husband, forthcoming from Shambhala Publications. www.skymind.us.
