Helen (Dhara) began Zen practice perched on a pile of bed pillows in her college dorm room in 1971. Since then, she has been blessed to practice with teachers in the Zen, Tibetan, and shamanic traditions. With gratitude for each of these teachers, Helen especially bows to her root Lama, HH the 33rd Menri Trizen, the head of the Bon lineage; and to Gesture of Awareness teacher Charles Genoud.
Connecting with the body is an essential part of Helen’s path and these teachers encouraged her to trust this way. Helen is a physical therapist at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She came to the Margha program to support her own daily practice and found that the teachings presented here at Natural Dharma are clear as a mountain stream. In gratitude for these teachings and the perspectives of Lama Willa and Lama Liz, Helen is happy to have the chance to share the practice with other Margha yogis.
