Tamara Daly

Tamara Daly returns to the Margha Program in 2025 as mitra after a five-year sabbatical. (She took leave in order to pursue a doctoral program towards becoming a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.)

Initially introduced to meditation in her twenties, but a diagnosis of stage 3 Melanoma in her late 30’s was what “turned the mind toward the dharma” and towards a serious practice. And in 2004 she took Refuge and Bodhisattva vows at the Kalachakra with his holiness the Dalai Lama. To fulfill that commitment, she began sitting with the Dzogchen Foundation group in Cambridge where Lama Willa Baker and Lama John Makransky both taught, both of whom she still considers her primary teachers.

She took the Margha Program with Lama Willa in her first iteration of the program, right after the formation of Natural Dharma Fellowship in 2010. She taught as a mitra from 2014 – 2019 co-leading with Joel Baehr at his house in Cambridge, and also with Meagan Searle, then with Paul Condon.

She has been a practice leader since ~ 2010 in the Saturday morning sitting group (originally with the Dzogchen Foundation, then Foundation for Active Compassion, now the Awakening Heart Practice Community) leading love and wisdom practices which are also an integral part of the Bodhicitta practices in the Margha Program. She has recently begun co-leading a monthly practice group in the Boston area that meets in person, as community and practice in the real world, in embodied presence, is of great value to her.
