Susan Pollak

Psychologist, Teacher.

Susan Pollak, MTS, Ed.D. is a co-founder and senior teacher at the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, https://www.chacmc.org/, Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School, where she has taught for 30 years.

A pioneer in the integration of mindfulness and psychotherapy since the 1980s, she is the author of Self-Compassion for Parents (2019), and co-author of Sitting Together: Essential Skills for Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy (2014). She is a contributing author of Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, 2nd edition, (2013).

Over the past decades, she has organized various film series, including Psychology Goes to the Movies (Boston Institute for Psychotherapy) and the Dharma Film Series (Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy).

She is also a frequent writer for Ten Percent Happier and Psychology Today.

Susan completed her MTS in Comparative Religion at Harvard Divinity School and went on to earn a doctorate in Psychology at Harvard. At present, Susan writes, lectures, teaches and is a practicing Clinical Psychologist.
